The Borough of Highland Park is seeking a reliable and hardworking individual to join our team as a Public Works Laborer. This position requires a valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) and involves a variety of manual labor and maintenance duties in support of municipal operations, including road maintenance, sanitation, snow removal, and general public works activities.

Operate and maintain heavy-duty vehicles and equipment (dump trucks, plows, loaders, etc.)

Perform road repairs, storm drain cleaning, snow and ice control, and sanitation duties

Assist with park, building, and grounds maintenance

Safely load, transport, and dispose of materials

Respond to emergency situations such as severe weather events

Follow all safety and municipal guidelines and procedures

Perform other related tasks as assigned

High school diploma or equivalent

Valid Class B CDL (minimum) with air brake endorsement;
Class A preferred

Ability to perform physical labor in all weather conditions

Ability to follow verbal and written instructions

Must be available to work 6:30 and – 3:00 pm, Monday thru Friday

Willingness to work occasional overtime, nights, weekends, and on-call shifts

Must be able to wear Borough issued PPE, including but not limited to safety-toe boots

Previous experience in public works, construction, or related field

Experience operating heavy machinery and trucks

Must be able to lift 50 pounds or more

Frequent standing, walking, bending, and climbing

Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
