IT Technical Architect

The IT Technical Architect is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining the organization’s technology architecture to ensure alignment with business goals. This role provides strategic technical leadership, oversees complex solution designs, and ensures that systems are scalable, secure, and optimized for performance. The Technical Architect collaborates closely with cross‑functional teams, including engineering, operations, cybersecurity, and business stakeholders, to deliver robust enterprise solutions.

• Develop, maintain, and govern enterprise architecture standards, frameworks, and reference models to ensure consistency and alignment across the organization. Define and maintain architectural roadmaps that guide technology evolution, modernization efforts, and long‑term investment planning in support of business strategy.
• Lead the design of complex, multi‑domain IT solutions encompassing infrastructure, cloud platforms, applications, and system integrations. Ensure solutions adhere to enterprise standards while meeting functional, performance, scalability, resiliency, and cost requirements.
• Continuously evaluate emerging technologies and industry trends to assess organizational relevance and maturity. Provide strategic recommendations and adoption roadmaps that align technology capabilities with business outcomes while minimizing risk.
• Partner with business stakeholders, project managers, and delivery teams to translate business requirements into clear, actionable technical architecture and design specifications. Ensure solutions accurately reflect business intent and are feasible, maintainable, and sustainable.
• Oversee architecture and design reviews for major initiatives to ensure compliance with enterprise standards and best practices. Validate solutions for scalability, security, performance, reliability, and operational readiness, and proactively identify and mitigate architectural risks.
• Provide technical leadership across engineering and development teams by guiding architectural decisions, promoting best practices, and mentoring architects and senior engineers. Foster a culture of continuous learning, technical excellence, and cross‑team collaboration.
• Conduct architectural risk assessments and ensure solutions comply with organizational security standards, regulatory requirements, and industry’s best practices. Collaborate with cybersecurity, risk, and compliance teams to embed controls and safeguards into system designs.
• Support resolution of complex, enterprise‑level technical issues by guiding root‑cause analysis and remediation efforts. Identify systemic architectural weaknesses and recommend long‑term corrective actions to improve system stability and reliability.
• Evaluate third‑party products, platforms, and services for architectural fit, security, and value. Contribute to vendor selection, contract evaluation, and ongoing vendor management to ensure alignment with enterprise architecture standards and strategic goals.
• Performs other duties as assigned to support the efficient operation of the department.

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Network Engineering, Industrial Automation, Electrical Engineering, or a related field is required.
• Minimum of five (5) years of combined experience in Network Administration, IT/OT systems, IT architecture, Systems Engineering solution design.
• Minimum of three (3) years of experience with industrial network protocols (e.g., Modbus, Ether Net/IP, Profinet, OPC UA, DNP3) is preferred.
