The Sr. General Accountant will oversee within the Accounting/Finance department and provide high-level analytical support and lead projects. The position includes assisting with daily, monthly, and annual financial processes, as well as identifying opportunities for departmental improvement. The role also involves supporting general accounting functions and may include payroll, tax, and cost accounting duties.

Reports to:
Corporate Controller

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage projects, ensuring accurate and timely completion.
• Support departmental needs, addressing technical or capacity issues.
• Manage business taxes of the company (property, sales/use) and prepare data analysis to support a third-party CPA in preparing tax returns.
• Oversee monthly and annual financial close processes, including preparing financial statements.
• Analyze accounts and prepare general ledger journal entries.
• Maintain monthly reconciliations and contribute to year-end close processes.
• Assist with budget preparation and related analysis.
• Ensure accurate recording of general ledger transactions.
• Additional duties may include tracking fixed assets, cost accounting analysis, and tax return filings.
• Support international divisions and general accountants as needed.
• Contribute to process improvements and efficiency development.

Requirements:

• Must have a bachelor’s degree in accounting.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience from an engineering manufacturing background.
• Monitor daily, monthly, and annual processes of the finance department, such as monthly and annual closings, budgeting, physical inventory, tax, accounts receivable, accounts payable, fixed assets, and cost accounting functions.
• Must have payroll and fixed asset experience.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles for various activities.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office; experience with Oracle is a plus.
• Willingness to travel as needed.
