Position RequirementsHSHS St. Joseph's Hospital Highland, an affiliate of Hospital Sisters Health System, provides proven-effective care to more than 35,000 residents in portions of Madison county and surrounding communities. HSHS St. Joseph's Hospital is a small critical access hospital performing routine low‑risk surgery.
Case AssignmentsOrtho, general surgery, GI, Cataracts, GU, Occasional GYN. Peds (only ENT cases 1 day every other month with an MDA). No OB.
Shifts- M-F 7 am-3:30 pm.
- Call 1 and 3 with 1 hour response time.
- CRNA only site
- CRNAs will be required to be credentialed at a sister hospital (Holy Family Greenville) to occasionally do cataracts and GI. This hospital is about 20 minutes from Highland.

- Pre‑anesthesia assessment
- Obtains and/or verifies patient consent
- Discuss anesthetic options and risks with the patient
- Induction, maintenance, and emergence from anesthesia
- Monitoring of the patient's physiological condition
- Performance of clinical intervention as needed
- Current license as a registered professional nurse
- Graduation from an accredited program of nurse anesthesia education
Certified or recertified by the AANA Council on Certification of Nurse Anesthetists
Highland, IL is a rural community of approximately 10,000 within 20 mins of downtown St. Louis. Highland offers a great public school system along with St Paul’s private school for grades pre‑K through 8th grade. The town is located a few miles away from Interstate 70.
Area Attractions- Located near the MCT trail system which is 138 miles of biking/recreation trail.
