Tax Manager, Tax Accountant
Tax Manager / Great Place To Work — Permanent position in Salt Lake City.
Base Pay Range$110,000–$130,000 per year.

- Oversee the preparation and review of federal, state, and local income tax returns and ensure timely submission.
- Manage the preparation and review of quarterly and annual tax provisions as per GAAP.
- Lead and mentor a team of tax professionals, promoting a culture of high performance and continuous improvement.
- Develop and implement strategic tax planning for all necessary federal and state taxes.
- Manage audits of federal and state income tax and state and local filings.
- Research and analyze a variety of tax issues and apply judgment to the preparation and defense of tax positions.
- Ensure company compliance with all applicable tax laws and regulations.
- Collaborate with upper management to formulate effective tax strategies.
- Maintain current knowledge of all federal, state, and local tax laws and keep the upper management informed of any changes that could impact the company's financial position.
- Work closely with the accounting team to ensure accurate financial reporting and decision support.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a tax manager or public accountant role.
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (Master’s in Taxation is a plus).
- Comprehensive understanding of MS Office and accounting software; familiarity with tax software and databases is a plus.
- In-depth knowledge of tax accounting, tax compliance, and all types of tax returns.
- Solid understanding of tax planning and strategy implementation.
- Excellent leadership and team management skills.
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail.
- Excellent time management skills and ability to meet tight deadlines.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to explain complex tax and financial information in a clear and concise manner.
