Job SummaryPrepare all food items in accordance with recipes and planned menus, oversee the Dining Services Department, and maintain a safe, clean, and efficient kitchen environment.
EssentialJob Duties
- Arrive on time and prepared for each shift.
- Prepare food items per menu plans and recipes, ensuring nutritional requirements and special dietary requests are met.
- Serve food at correct temperature, ensuring plate presentation and charting.
- Consult with the Director of Dining Services on menu changes or substitutions.
- Maintain clean, organized food storage areas.
- Prepare food in compliance with sanitary regulations and company policies.
- Receive and process food orders promptly.
- Dispose of waste per established policies.
- Store, label, and date leftovers appropriately.
- Record temperatures of refrigerators, freezers, and dishwashers.
- Keep kitchen and dining areas clean.
- Supervise servers and dishwashers as needed.
- Prepare upcoming menu items, ensuring stocked inventory.
- Promote a positive, friendly team‑work attitude.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the Director of Dining Services or executive leadership.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Age over 18 years and required background clearance.
- Current Food Handler permit.
- Minimum of two years’ experience cooking.
- Negative TB test results.
- Excellent communication skills in spoken and written English.
- Computer proficiency (Word, email, Excel, scanners, copiers, fax).
- Professional conduct with all team members, residents, family members, and visitors.
- Lift and push up to 50 lbs.
- Move intermittently throughout the day and throughout the community.
- Stand for extended periods.
Hourly: $14‑$15.
