The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing our database systems in both on premise and public cloud environments. This role involves ensuring high availability, performance, security, and scalability of our databases, including Db2 and various No

SQL databases.

This role will contribute to the design and architecture, solution engineering, and L3 support. You will be responsible for delivering database projects, performing problem analysis, and troubleshooting. Additionally, you will deploy and manage database instances on public cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP, utilizing cloud-native tools and services to enhance database performance and reliability.

• Database Management:
  Deploy and manage database instances on public cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP, utilizing cloud-native tools and services to enhance database performance and reliability.
• Automation and Scripting:
  Develop and maintain scripts for database automation tasks using Python, Ansible, or similar languages, and implement Infrastructure as Code practices using tools like Terraform, Ansible Tower or Cloud Formation.
• Backup and Recovery:
  Develop and implement robust backup and recovery strategies to ensure databases are protected against data loss and can be recovered in case of failure.
• Documentation and Reporting:
  Maintain comprehensive documentation for database configurations, procedures, and policies, and provide regular reports on database performance, uptime, and other key metrics.
• Monitoring and Troubleshooting:
  Set up and maintain database monitoring tools to ensure database health and performance and troubleshoot and resolve database-related issues in a timely manner.
• Technical Influence:
  Provide technical influence and subject matter expertise for the database team, tackling complex problems and identifying innovative solutions.
• Collaboration:
  
  Work closely with development teams to ensure database designs align with application requirements, leading to more efficient and effective application development.

This is a hybrid position. Expectation of days in office will be confirmed by your hiring manager.

Basic Qualifications:

* 5+ years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor's Degree or at least 2 years of work experience with an Advanced degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 0 years of work experience with a PhD, OR 8+ years of relevant work experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

* 6 or more years of work experience with a Bachelors Degree or 4 or more years of relevant experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or up to 3 years of relevant experience with a PhD

* 7-10 years of DBA experience, generally with DB2 LUW and No

SQL databases.

* Proficiency with No

SQL databases like Cassandra or Redis Valkey.

Experience with public cloud services such as AWS, Google Cloud Platform, or Microsoft Azure.

* Strong knowledge and extensive experience with DB2 UDB RDBMS technologies, Cassandra and Public cloud No

SQL databases.
