Unemployment Insurance Representative

Equifax is currently hiring an Unemployment Insurance Representative to contact clients and review unemployment cases, documenting conversations, screening documents, writing detailed letters to state agencies, analyzing laws, and managing email correspondence. The role is 100% on‑site at our office in Hilliard, OH.

What You’ll Do
  • Provide excellent customer service by establishing rapport with clients and state agencies.
  • Receive and prioritize claims, questionnaires, determinations, and other unemployment related data.
  • Analyze individual case information by reviewing data accessed through the PC, investigative telephone calls or document images, to determine if the facts warrant a response.
  • Interpret and apply state laws and regulations in response to unemployment documents based on the client‑provided separation details.
  • Respond to customers or state agencies with all pertinent details within the timeframe allowed by state or departmental procedures.
  • Initiate timely telephone calls, faxes or emails to customers to obtain, document or pass along needed information.
What Experience You Need
  • Associate’s degree (A.A.) or equivalent from a two‑year college or technical school, or two years of customer service related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 1 year of office experience.
What Could Set You Apart
  • Previous experience or familiarity with Unemployment Insurance and the Unemployment Claims process.
  • Experience in an office setting with an emphasis on customer service, organization of work duties and performing job functions independently.
  • Proficiency with Google or Microsoft Office PC applications including Word, Excel and Outlook.
