ResponsibilitiesThe Lead Medical Assistant (MA) will be instrumental in assisting management in the day-to-day operations of the clinic, ensuring the medical support role and patient care are delivered efficiently. This position will demonstrate strong clinical skills and expertise of all relevant systems and processes.
Responsibilities include:
- Modeling, training, and promoting high‑functioning clinical support staff from all experience levels
- Managing day-to-day clinical support activities
- Meets all Medical Assistant KSA’s
- Fosters an environment of camaraderie and teamwork
- Ability to motivate, direct and retain Medical Assistants
- Possesses excellent leadership, training and communication skills
- Promotes the organization’s high quality, compassionate care of patients
- Successfully performs the responsibilities of a Senior Medical Assistant
- Leads the day‑to‑day work and productivity of patient care staff
- Advises and assists staff on problem solving patient/customer concerns, addressing issues associated with clinic operations
- Performs specialized medical procedures of a routine nature, per established clinical protocol
- Serves as clinical preceptor to enhance training and improve skill deficiencies among staff
- Aids management in areas such as scheduling, daily work assignments, hiring, training, employee engagement, performance management, identifying areas for improvement, and reinforcing established expectations
- Internal Candidates – Combined 2 years experience as a Certified Medical Assistant with OSUP and at least one year as a Senior Medical Assistant
- External Candidates – 2 years certified or 7 years overall Medical Assistant experience
- Prior experience working in a preceptor designation preferred
- Current BLS Certification
- Experience with EMR
- Medical Assistant Certification
USD $21.65 – $32.48 per hour.
