Under a little-known Supreme Court ruling, Life Wise empowers communities to provide Bible education for their public school students DURING SCHOOL HOURS. Tens of thousands of public school students attend Life Wise Bible classes each week.

About the Job

We are looking for a gospel-centered, strategic thinker with a passion for people and substantial experience in HR to join the Life Wise team. The Human Resources Generalist will play a pivotal role in implementing HR strategies and processes that align with the goals of Life Wise Academy and foster a positive, collaborative work culture. This full-time position is based at our headquarters in Hilliard, Ohio (just outside of Columbus).

Responsibilities

• Provide support on a comprehensive range of human resources activities, including performance management, policy compliance, recruitment, compensation, employee relations and other related HR functional areas
• Mediate conflicts and disputes between employees, ensuring resolutions that align with the Life Wise Academy values and objectives
• Make recommendations regarding adherence to applicable federal, state, and local laws, as well as Life Wise Academy policies and procedures
• Address HR matters including disciplinary actions, performance issues, and employee separations
• Assist with recruitment and selection process, including creating and updating job descriptions and providing accurate and timely advice throughout the phases of recruitment and selection
• Participate in the implementation and integration of new policies, procedures, tools, and strategies
• Support Life Wise Academy's efforts to maintain a healthy and supportive workplace culture, while ensuring accountability to organizational values and ethical standards
• Perform other tasks as assigned

Qualifications

• A mature personal Christian faith consistent with the Life Wise Statement of Faith

• 2+ years of experience as an HR professional
• Bachelor's degree in human resources, business administration, or similar (preferred)
• Experience working in a faith-based or nonprofit environment (preferred)
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the proven ability to facilitate critical conversations
• Comprehensive understanding of HR legislation, policies, and procedures
• PHR or SPHR certification (preferred)
• Proficient computer skills, including Google Workspace

Salary and Benefits

• From $58,000 per year
