The purpose of this position is to provide direct care to the residents, assisting with daily living activities and encouraging them to maintain or reach the highest level of function according to facility policies and procedures.
Key Responsibilities- Assist with resident direct care needs and comforts of daily living, including lifting, turning, positioning, transporting, bathing, dressing, oral hygiene, and responding to call lights.
- Maintain cleanliness of resident rooms, including daily cleaning, deep cleaning as required, and discharge cleaning.
- Communicate professionally and effectively with residents, peers, families, managers, and visitors, reporting changes in condition promptly.
- Assist nurses with assigned tasks such as measuring vitals, recording weights, organizing living areas, assisting with new admissions, and training new staff.
- Adhere to resident rights documentation, maintain confidentiality, and document resident information accurately and confidentially.
- Practice universal precautions and follow infection control protocols.
- Perform food service functions, including meal preparation, serving, assisting with eating, after meal care, and recording intake.
- Education: High school diploma or GED preferred, or currently enrolled in a program to achieve preferred education.
- Experience: Two to four years preferred.
- Good communication, comprehension, and interpersonal skills; ability to speak, read, write, and understand English.
- Working knowledge of Windows, Microsoft Office Suite, and the internet.
- Licensure: N/A.
