Maintenance/Service Technician – Arlington Park
The Maintenance/Service Technician reports directly to the Service Manager and is responsible for performing make‑ready repairs to all vacant units prior to move‑in. HVAC certification preferred.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Perform repairs to make‑ready units in a timely manner.
- Responsible for 24‑hour on‑call duty, respond to on‑call paging as scheduled by the Service Manager.
- Assist the Service Manager, Housekeeper, and Grounds personnel with their work as necessary.
- Assist with inventory control and utilization of maintenance materials and supplies.
- Inspect property for improvements and repairs and review findings with the Service Manager.
- Perform and review work order requests; complete work orders with same‑day completion in mind.
- Maintain a clean and organized Maintenance shop.
- Respond immediately in the event of snow or other emergencies.
- Follow all Maintenance General Operating Policies.
- Maintain a professional appearance in uniform, good attitude, and personal hygiene.
- Work well with other staff and be cooperative in helping at another site when needed.
- Be flexible to transfer to another property if necessary.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
- Provide reliable transportation to perform outside tasks.
- HVAC skills – CFC certification.
- CPO certification preferred.
- Plumbing, electrical, carpentry skills.
- Knowledge of SDS and OSHA.
- 608 Refrigerant Certification preferred; training available.
- Position may require night and weekend work.
- Required to be on call.
- Duties performed both inside and outside, in extreme temperatures below 32°F and above 100°F.
High school diploma, GED, or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Certificates, Licenses, RegistrationsCurrent driver’s license and CFC certificate (where needed).
OtherSkills and Abilities
- HVAC, plumbing, carpentry, electrical skills; pool certification if required.
- Knowledge of OSHA regulations and MSDS standards.
