Repair and Tool Technician

Overview

Repair and Tool Technician role at The Home Depot. The position is responsible for evaluation and repair of small engines, outdoor power equipment and handheld electrical devices. This role involves equipment recommendations and ensuring units are maintained. Technicians work in stores with Tool Rental Centers and in repair centers. In-store duties include serving Tool Rental customers, writing customer contracts and invoices for equipment rental and tool repairs, verifying tool operation, and demonstrating proper use as needed.

They also maintain day-to-day operation and maintenance of equipment in the tool rental department. In non-store locations, they repair units, test quality of repairs and clean before returning to the originating store. Technicians must have thorough knowledge of all tools and effectively manage tool inventory by maintaining and repairing tools as necessary.
