What

will you be doing at Woodard & Curran?

The Operations & Maintenance Technician is responsible for the operation and maintenance of water plant, wastewater treatment plant and remote pump station equipment, including some distribution and collection system maintenance and meter reading, as directed by the Project Manager. Participates in an on‑call rotation on weekends, holidays, and outside normal workday hours. Will be required to respond to emergency or unpredicted situations.

Must be able to perform all required laboratory analysis and make operational changes to treatment plant(s). Must possess solid mechanical repair skills while providing mechanical and basic electrical system troubleshooting and repair of pumping equipment and control switches. Working in inclement weather may be required.

What will you need to succeed?
  • Graduation from high school or vocational school, including or supplemented by courses in mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation maintenance.
  • Experience in the operation and maintenance of municipal infrastructure.
  • Must demonstrate safe working practices and adhere to safety policies and procedures.
  • Capability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with superiors, current staff members, and the general public.
  • Must possess a valid IL driver’s license and a safe driving record.
  • Must be able to lift or move up to 40 lbs on a regular basis.
  • Ability to acquire Class “D” water or Class “4” wastewater license within 1 year.
  • Understanding of SCADA operations.
  • Knowledge of computer applications, and ability to use & learn various software programs (MS Teams, Outlook, Hach WIMS, Utility Cloud)
  • Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
  • Successful candidates will be required to complete a background check, pre‑placement physical and drug screen before employment.

$22.53 - $29.05 an hour

Depending on certifications and experience. Please reference this project specific pay range. In addition, for facilities that are unionized and receive benefits through the union, the benefits may differ from what is listed.
