Senior Estimator - Mission Critical Electrical

Gryphon Oakwood are partnered with a billion-dollar, industry leading electrical contractor based in the PNW.

The Sr. Electrical Estimator is responsible for developing accurate, comprehensive estimates for electrical construction projects of all sizes, including projects valued at $30 million or more. This role supports all phases of preconstruction, including quantity takeoffs, vendor and subcontractor coordination, budget development, design-build estimating, and cost analysis. The Electrical Estimator collaborates with project managers, general contractors, and design teams to ensure competitive pricing, accurate project budgets, and successful project execution while maintaining company standards for quality, efficiency, and profitability.

• Prepare comprehensive estimates for projects of all sizes throughout every phase of the estimating process.
• Coordinate with vendors to obtain pricing, product information, and project-specific requirements.
• Coordinate with subcontractors to gather quotes, confirm scope, and ensure accurate project pricing.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors and general contractors to stay informed of upcoming projects and business opportunities.
• Perform quantity takeoffs and enter accurate project data into estimating systems.
• Prepare detailed scope letters outlining project inclusions, exclusions, and clarifications.
• Develop complete project estimates that align with designated profit margins and are structured to support cost-to-complete tracking, project phasing, and ongoing cost management.
• Prepare and maintain post-bid documentation, including competitor information, competitive pricing levels, cost-per-square-foot data, and labor-hour benchmarks for future estimating reference.
• Participate in company meetings to provide updates on prospective projects and the status of active estimates. Attend monthly estimator meetings to share information, discuss best practices, and contribute innovative ideas and process improvements that enhance coordination, efficiency, and profitability.
• Collaborate with the Project Controls team to establish, refine, and maintain company procedures and processes in support of continuous improvement and operational excellence.
• Represent the company in preconstruction meetings with owners, architects, engineers, and general contractors, guiding the team through cost reviews and budget discussions.
• Collaborate with the Project Manager to develop, monitor, and manage project budgets throughout the preconstruction process.
• Perform additional duties and support special projects as assigned.

• Working knowledge of electrical construction methods and theory, acquired through completion of an electrical training program or equivalent industry experience.
• Minimum of five years of experience in electrical estimating.
• Experience performing calculations and entering indirect costs, general conditions, subcontractor quotations, and vendor pricing in Accubid.
• Experience managing all phases of the preconstruction process.
• Experience with design-build projects, including electrical device layout in compliance with applicable codes and incorporation of project narratives into single-line diagrams and other electrical drawings for estimating and submission to general contractors.
• Experience independently estimating electrical projects valued at $30 million or more.
