Physician​/Assistant Professor - Emergency Medicine; Hillsboro Medical Center

Department Overview

The OHSU Department of Emergency Medicine (DEM) is seeking a full-time physician to join our team at Hillsboro Medical Center (HMC). HMC is a traditional community emergency department managing over 31,000 patient visits annually. Located on the west side of Portland/Hillsboro, the ED serves a diverse patient population, including a large Latino and pediatric community. HMC is a stroke center and features a cardiac catheterization lab, providing comprehensive care to the surrounding region.

The hospital is undergoing a significant transformation, blending academic and community services. Upper-level emergency medicine, internal medicine, and family medicine residents rotate through the ED, contributing to a rich teaching environment.

• Staff the Hillsboro Medical Center Emergency Department as assigned by the Chair.
• Participate in Emergency Department quality assurance activities.
• Provide online medical consultation.

• Education: MD or equivalent;
  Emergency Medicine Residency Certificate.
• Experience: Knowledge, training, and experience in clinical and academic Emergency Medicine.

  • Demonstrated ability to satisfy standards of performance delineated by law.
  • Ability to manage heavy workload with multiple priorities and inflexible deadlines.
  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
  • Proficient in the use of computing hardware and software, including personal computing equipment, electronic medical record, word processing and spreadsheet software.
  • Regular and consistent attendance at work.

• Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Certification required.
• ABEM or ABOEM Board certified or board eligible.
• Current unlimited Oregon MD (or equivalent) license prior to start date.
• Provider must complete credentialing process and be approved by the OHSU Professional Board to practice as an independent practitioner in an acute care/emergency setting.
• Provider must be registered with Federal Drug Enforcement Administration and be authorized to prescribe medications prior to start date.
