Para – High School and Elementary Public Schools

We have an immediate opening for a high school para which will continue to be a position in the fall. We will need at least two new paras at the elementary school starting in August. Paras work between 6.5 and 7 hours a day. We currently start paras out at $16.00 an hour and that will increase to $17.50 when school starts in the fall.

Paras are nine month employees. They have the option of health insurance, option for participating in group dental and vision policies, 10 days of sick leave, 4 days of emergency leave, and 2 days of personal leave. The district pays 9.76% of PERS and the employee pays 5.5%.

Paras assist special education teachers and classroom teachers in providing services for students on an IEP. This means going into classrooms and working with students as well as working with students in the special education room. Paras are part of a team of individuals providing services instead of being assigned to one student throughout the day. We are looking for individuals that enjoy working with young people and helping them succeed.

We currently have openings at both schools.
