About the Role

Are you seeking an opportunity to work with Semiconductor manufacturing equipment? As a Field Service Engineer II, you will provide customer support for onsite installations, repairs and maintenance of photolithography semiconductor equipment primarily in Hillsboro, Oregon. This is an exciting opportunity to be on the cutting edge of technology and join a dedicated team enabling new technology to improve processes in a pre‑production environment.

You will receive 1‑2 weeks of training in Austin, Texas or Japan and 4 weeks of OJT in Hillsboro, Oregon. This position requires full‑time presence at your assigned office(s)/worksite(s)/territory.

NOTE:

Position will work night shifts on a compressed work week requiring flexibility to change work schedule as required.

Responsibilities
  • Check and maintain equipment within factory standard specifications of system equipment.
  • Instruct customers in the operation and maintenance of the system equipment.
  • Perform repair maintenance or unit replacement according to factory procedures independently and with others.
  • Provide technical support to customers and respond to questions regarding operation procedures, equipment malfunctions, and other technical issues to minimize equipment down time and ensure positive customer relations.
  • Identify and report equipment error and status updates related to equipment performance issues to aid in troubleshooting or maintenance.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of activity and provide periodic reports.
  • Work with other technicians in the field to troubleshoot and service equipment.
About You:

Skills & Expertise
  • Associates degree or equivalent experience required (Bachelor’s degree preferred) plus 2‑3 years of related experience.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a related field (i.e., semiconductor manufacturing equipment).
  • Hands‑on mechanical skills required.
  • Hands‑on experience with electronic testing tools required.
  • Knowledge of Linux operating system is helpful for operating and troubleshooting the system.
  • Excellent trouble‑shooting skills, verbal and written communication skills.
  • Customer support experience is a plus.
  • Must be able to travel and work flexible schedules.
  • Must feel comfortable working in a cleanroom environment most of the day (wearing full cleanroom suit, facemask, gloves, safety glasses).
  • Requires ability to lift up to 30 pounds individually; optional assistance for lifting over 30 pounds.
  • Requires ability to stand, walk, type, reach, kneel, crouch, stoop, push, pull, and climb stairs or ladders.
  • Requires close visual acuity for inspection of small parts.
  • Work environment may include exposure to moving mechanical parts, electrical current, chemicals, ultraviolet light, lasers, confined spaces and high‑time‑sensitive situations.
