Job Overview: An exciting opportunity is available for an Engineering Technician II to work on semiconductor manufacturing equipment, providing technical support and maintenance at a leading facility in Hillsboro, OR. This is a full-time, non-exempt, night shift position with a compressed workweek schedule. As an Engineering Technician, you will be on the cutting edge of technology, receiving initial training in Austin, Texas or Japan, followed by on-the-job training in Hillsboro.
Key Responsibilities- Inspect and maintain equipment according to factory specifications.
- Provide customer training on operation and maintenance of semiconductor equipment.
- Conduct repairs, maintenance, and unit replacements independently or in collaboration with others.
- Deliver technical support to customers, responding to questions regarding operations, malfunctions, and other technical issues to ensure minimal downtime.
- Document activities accurately and provide regular reports on equipment status and performance issues.
- Work alongside other technicians to troubleshoot, service, and enhance equipment performance.
- Associate degree in Engineering or equivalent experience (Bachelors preferred).
- 2-3 years of experience in an engineering technician role.
- Hands-on mechanical skills and experience with electronic testing tools.
- Familiarity with the Linux operating system is helpful for system operation and troubleshooting.
- Knowledge in optical, lasers, software, robotics, or chemical processes is a plus.
- Strong troubleshooting, communication, and customer support skills.
- Ability to work night shifts with a compressed schedule and flexibility to adjust as needed.
- Comfortable working in a cleanroom environment (requires wearing full cleanroom attire).
- Ability to lift up to 30 pounds; assistance provided for weights over 30 pounds.
- Must be willing to travel up to 25% for work, including overnight travel.
- Valid driver's license and good driving record necessary to remain compliant with company policies.
- Frequent standing, walking, typing, and handling of equipment.
- Occasional kneeling, crouching, and climbing ladders.
- Visual acuity required for inspection tasks and reading small parts.
