Overview
Are you ready to work on the cutting edge of semiconductor manufacturing technology? As an Engineering Technician IV
, you will provide essential support for installations, repairs, and maintenance of photolithography semiconductor equipment in Hillsboro, OR. This is a full-time, non-exempt position, with shift options that include day and night compressed workweeks. You will receive training in Austin, TX, or Hillsboro, OR for up to three months before starting onsite.
- Ensure equipment is operating within factory specifications, checking and maintaining standards.
- Instruct and train customers in equipment operation and maintenance.
- Act as the primary company liaison with customers for assigned projects, including installations and major component replacements.
- Conduct complex repairs and unit replacements independently or in collaboration with other technicians.
- Provide technical support and respond to customer inquiries to minimize equipment downtime.
- Document activities and provide periodic reports on equipment performance and issues.
- Conduct training sessions for customer personnel to ensure operational proficiency.
- Collaborate with other field technicians to troubleshoot and service equipment.
- Bachelors degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience (e.g., technical training, military training).
- Minimum of 3 years of experience with semiconductor manufacturing equipment or similar field.
- Proficient in hands-on mechanical skills and experience with electronic testing tools.
- Knowledge of the Linux operating system is preferred for troubleshooting and system operation.
- Additional skills in optics, lasers, software, robotics, or chemical processes are a plus.
- Strong troubleshooting, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Previous customer support experience is a plus.
- Willingness to work a compressed shift schedule with flexibility as needed.
- Comfortable working in a cleanroom environment for extended periods (requires wearing full cleanroom attire).
- Ability to lift up to 30 pounds; assistance provided for lifting heavier objects.
- Substantial standing, walking, and other physical activities required.
- Availability for domestic and international travel, with a valid drivers license and a good driving record.
Work Environment Requirements
- Must be able to stand, walk, type, grasp, talk, and hear frequently.
- Ability to perform occasional kneeling, crouching, reaching, and climbing stairs or ladders.
- Strong visual acuity required for close inspection and operation of machinery.
- Exposure to moving parts, electrical currents, chemicals, ultraviolet light, and lasers; work may be in close quarters or time-sensitive situations.
