About the Role
Are you seeking an opportunity to work with semiconductor manufacturing equipment? As a Field Service Engineer II, you will provide customer support for onsite installations, repairs and maintenance of photolithography semiconductor equipment primarily in Hillsboro Oregon. This is an exciting opportunity to be on the cutting edge of technology and join a dedicated team enabling new technology to improve processes in a pre‑production environment.
You will receive 1‑2 weeks of training in Austin, Texas or Japan and 4 weeks OJT in Hillsboro, Oregon. This position requires full‑time presence at your assigned office(s)/worksite(s)/territory.
NOTE:
Position will work night shifts on a compressed work week requiring flexibility to change work schedule as required.
- Check and maintain equipment within factory standard specifications of system equipment.
- Instruct customers in the operation and maintenance of the system equipment.
- Perform repair maintenance or unit replacement according to factory procedures independently and with others.
- Provide technical support to customers and respond to questions regarding operation procedures, equipment malfunctions, and other technical issues to minimize equipment down time and ensure positive customer relations.
- Identify and report equipment error and status updates related to equipment performance issues to aid in troubleshooting or maintenance.
- Maintain accurate documentation of activity and provide periodic reports.
- Work with other technicians in the field to troubleshoot and service equipment.

- HS Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience required.
- AA or BS degree in a related field preferred, plus 1‑2 years of related experience.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in a related field (semiconductor manufacturing equipment).
- Knowledge of Linux operating system helpful for operating and troubleshooting the system.
- Hands‑on mechanical skills required.
- Hands‑on experience with electronic testing tools required.
- Ability to work on equipment alone and also collaborate with other engineers as a team player under challenging situations.
- Additional experience or knowledge in optical, lasers, software, robotics, precision mechanical skill, or chemical are plus.
- Excellent troubleshooting skills, verbal and written communication skills.
- Customer support experience is a plus.
- Must be able to travel and work flexible schedules, including international and domestic travel.
- Must feel comfortable working in a cleanroom environment most of the day (wearing full cleanroom suit, facemask, gloves, safety glasses).
- Requires ability to lift up to 30 pounds individually; assistance may be available for heavier loads.
- Will involve substantial standing, walking, typing, grasping, talking, hearing, kneeling, crouching, stooping, reaching, pushing, pulling, and climbing stairs or ladder.
- Work environment may include proximity to moving mechanical parts, electrical current, exposure to chemicals, ultraviolet light and lasers, and working in enclosed spaces.
- Work environment may include highly time‑sensitive situations requiring quick resolution.
We are providing the anticipated rate for this role: $29.20 - $43.73 hourly.
