The R&D Financial Specialist will support R&D expense management, financial planning, forecasting, and analysis for Altera’s semiconductor business. This role partners with cross-functional teams—including Engineering, Sales, Operations, and Product Management—to provide insights that influence strategic decisions and optimize financial performance.
Key Responsibilities- R&D Ownership & Reporting
- Consolidate and report short- and long-term R&D results.
- Analyze revenue, cost structure, margins, and profitability trends.
- Support quarterly and annual financial close processes ensuring accuracy.
- Forecasting & Budgeting
- Develop financial models for revenue forecasting, cost analysis, and operating expenses.
- Assist in annual budgeting and strategic planning processes.
- Identify key business drivers impacting financial performance.
- Business Performance Analysis
- Conduct variance analysis (actual vs. forecast) and provide actionable recommendations.
- Support pricing strategies, product profitability analysis, and investment decisions.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner with Engineering, Sales, Operations, and Product teams to align financial goals with business strategies.
- Provide financial insights for executive decision-making and strategic initiatives.
The pay range below is for Bay Area California only. Actual salary may vary based on a number of factors including job location, job-related knowledge, skills, experiences, trainings, etc. We also offer incentive opportunities that reward employees based on individual and company performance. $113.7K - $164.7K USD

Qualifications- Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field (MBA or CPA preferred).
- 3+ years of experience in FP&A, P&L management, or corporate finance—preferably in semiconductor or technology industry.
- Strong knowledge of financial modeling, forecasting, and variance analysis.
- Proficiency in financial tools such as Oracle, Hyperion, Power BI, and advanced Excel.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills; ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a can-do perspective.
