The R&D Financial Specialist will support R&D expense management, financial planning, forecasting, and analysis for Altera’s semiconductor business. This role partners with cross-functional teams—including Engineering, Sales, Operations, and Product Management—to provide insights that influence strategic decisions and optimize financial performance.

• R&D Ownership & Reporting
  • Consolidate and report short- and long-term R&D results.
  • Analyze revenue, cost structure, margins, and profitability trends.
  • Support quarterly and annual financial close processes ensuring accuracy.
• Forecasting & Budgeting
  • Develop financial models for revenue forecasting, cost analysis, and operating expenses.
  • Assist in annual budgeting and strategic planning processes.
  • Identify key business drivers impacting financial performance.
• Business Performance Analysis
  • Conduct variance analysis (actual vs. forecast) and provide actionable recommendations.
  • Support pricing strategies, product profitability analysis, and investment decisions.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Partner with Engineering, Sales, Operations, and Product teams to align financial goals with business strategies.
  • Provide financial insights for executive decision-making and strategic initiatives.

The pay range below is for Bay Area California only. Actual salary may vary based on a number of factors including job location, job-related knowledge, skills, experiences, trainings, etc. We also offer incentive opportunities that reward employees based on individual and company performance. $113.7K - $164.7K USD

• Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field (MBA or CPA preferred).
• 3+ years of experience in FP&A, P&L management, or corporate finance—preferably in semiconductor or technology industry.
• Strong knowledge of financial modeling, forecasting, and variance analysis.
• Proficiency in financial tools such as Oracle, Hyperion, Power BI, and advanced Excel.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills; ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a can-do perspective.
