The Senior Performance Test Engineer defines and executes performance engineering practices for Online and Mobile Banking (OMB) applications and integrations, ensuring they meet performance, scalability, reliability, and availability requirements while supporting exceptional member experience. This role partners with engineering, architecture, Dev Ops, infrastructure, product, and vendor teams to identify risks, establish benchmarks, resolve bottlenecks, and improve performance throughout the software development lifecycle.

What You'll Do- Design, develop, and execute load, stress, volume, endurance, and capacity tests for web, mobile, and API-based applications.
- Establish and maintain performance baselines, benchmarks, service level objectives (SLOs), and performance acceptance criteria.
- Create realistic workload models that simulate member behavior and production transaction volumes.
- Analyze performance test results and identify application, database, infrastructure, and network bottlenecks.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to troubleshoot, tune, and optimize system performance.
- Build and maintain automated performance testing frameworks and integrate performance testing into CI/CD pipelines.
- Monitor application performance trends and provide recommendations to improve scalability, reliability, and resiliency.
- Produce performance test reports, dashboards, and executive summaries for stakeholders and leadership.
- Support release readiness activities by providing performance risk assessments and go/no-go recommendations.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to delivery teams promoting best practices.

- 5+ years of experience in performance testing, performance engineering, or quality engineering for high-volume web, mobile, API, or distributed applications.
- Hands-on experience with tools such as JMeter, Load Runner, Blaze Meter, Gatling, or k6.
- Strong knowledge of SQL, database performance analysis, Agile delivery, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, and communication skills, including the ability to explain technical findings to varied audiences.
- Hands-on experience supporting release planning, production issue resolution, and root-cause analysis to minimize business impact and maintain platform stability.
- Experience in financial services, fintech, online banking, or mobile banking, including SaaS or vendor-hosted platforms.
- Experience with observability tools such as Dynatrace, Splunk, Grafana, App Dynamics, or New Relic.
- Experience with cloud platforms and modern architectures, including microservices and APIs.
- Required Education
:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Target CompensationOregon + Massachusetts: $105k - $125k annually + annual bonus
Rocklin, CA: $115k - $137k annually + annual bonus
San Jose, CA: $132k - $156k annually + annual bonus
