Maintenance Foreman

Job Summary

Responsible for the direction of crew activities on the job site, according to pre-established schedules, standards, and procedures to provide high quality service, as directed by the Area Manager.

• Understand and implement job specifications for each site.
• Assign daily tasks to crew members and ensure compliance.
• Perform landscape maintenance tasks including mowing, edging, blowing, bed grooming, pruning, fertilizing, and leaf pick up.
• Routinely monitor sites for quality and follow up with crews on performance improvements. Communicate continuing concerns to Area Manager.
• Conduct and oversee the execution of minor enhancement projects performed at the crew level.
• Complete daily paperwork timely and accurately.
• Assess equipment operation issues and effectively communicate repair needs to shop personnel.
• Supervise safe loading and unloading of equipment.
• Assist Area Manager with initial and ongoing training of crews.
• Assess skill level and work behavior of employees and provide recommendations to the Area Manager regarding professional development, performance evaluation, and promotional opportunities.
• Ensure adherence to company policies.
• Develop and maintain a positive work relationship with Area Manager, peers, and subordinates.
• Encourage and maintain safe working conditions by promoting the Company’s “Culture of Safety,” including bi‑weekly safety tailgate meetings and proper use of personal protective equipment.

• Education
  :
  At least 3–5 years of related work experience.
• Language Skills
  :
  Ability to communicate in English; bilingual English/Spanish strongly preferred.
• Certificates, Licenses, and Registrations
  :
  Valid driver license in the state of employment;
  Commercial pesticide applicator license preferred.
• Ability to safely operate commercial landscape equipment and tools.
• Demonstrate proper pruning techniques while considering plant material and season.
• Understand fertilization basics for turf and plants.
• Working knowledge of herbicide applications and relevant practices.
• General understanding of annuals installation and maintenance.
• Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and complete them under tight deadlines.
• Ability to motivate and lead subordinates.
• Strong commitment to high quality of work and customer service.
• Ability to read and understand maps for navigation and job planning.
• Basic understanding of smartphone apps related to work requirements (e.g., work order entry, time entry, communication with Area Manager).

$25.00/hr – $28.00/hr
