Laser Process Technician

Micron Laser Technology is seeking a Laser Processing Technician for our Hillsboro, OR location.

Full‑time position Monday‑Friday with some overtime. Hours may be first shift (8:00 am – 4:30 pm) or a modified shift (9:30 am – 6:00 pm).

Compensation based on experience: $22‑$28 per hour. Full benefits package offered including medical, dental, retirement plan (3 % company matching), quarterly profit sharing, and tuition reimbursement. On‑job training provided.

The Laser Processing Technician reports to the production manager and is responsible for laser programming and material processing for the aerospace, medical, and printed circuit board industries.

Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with staff and other technicians on application direction.
  • Manage laser process development of customer’s product during all phases of laser processing including part quality.
  • Coordinate with engineering and sales to ensure technical requirements and specifications are met.
  • Develop new processes and procedures to verify production part quality on the factory floor.
Qualifications
  • US citizen or permanent resident with unrestricted work rights in the U.S.
  • Outstanding written, verbal, and email communication.
  • General machine‑shop skills including use of calipers, micrometers, and optical inspection.
  • Ability to read mechanical prints and part tolerances.
  • Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs, twist, bend, stoop, lean, reach and stand for long periods.
  • Ability to respond to machine alarms and distinguish different alarm colors.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment, working independently or as part of a team with little supervision.
  • High school diploma or GED; 1+ year related experience. Associate’s degree in technical or manufacturing discipline is preferred.

    CAD/CAM, CAM experience; MRP/ERP tools.
  • Technical Documentation: read, understand, and interpret part drawings and specifications; document control.
  • First Article Evaluations: determine conformance, adjust process, interpret inspection results.
  • In‑Process / Quality Evaluations: follow quality procedures, AQL sampling, experience with AS9100, ISO
    9001, Mil Specs.
