We are looking for Weld Inspectors - QAR (Quality Assurance Reps) with experience in Welding/Piping to join our teams in the Hillsboro, OR area!
Weld Inspectors (QARs) will oversee subcontractor’s work performance to ensure it follows the defined quality specifications. They will monitor and maintain project quality control objectives and report daily status.
Typical Duties
- Plan and direct activities concerned with development, application, and maintenance of quality standards for industrial processes, materials, and products.
- Support subcontractors on training issues
- Conduct source inspections of materials
- Support the client's RFI process
- Make recommendations on field issues
- Provide daily project progress assessments
- Develop and analyze statistical data
- Establish quality and reliability expectations for finished products
- Formulate and maintain quality control objectives
- Investigate and address customer complaints regarding quality
Additional responsibilities include:
- Inspect welds per AWS B5.1, in accordance with BPVC Section IX
- Possess general knowledge of duct installation, torque values, spark tests, and installation procedures
- Inspect welds on PVDF, PP, PE, PVC, CPVC, SS Orbital
- Inspect glue-bonded joints on PVC and CPVC systems
- Be computer literate with Excel and Word, and comfortable using customer portals for specifications and drawings
- Liaise with customers and contractors, and perform conference calls
- Read, understand, and apply written specifications to installations
Experience
CWIs are highly encouraged to apply but not required. Experience with exotic metal welding is a plus. Candidates with 5+ years as an industrial welder in a manufacturing environment, willing to train as an inspector, are encouraged to apply. Ideal candidates will have experience in the semiconductor, microelectronic, biotech, or pharmaceutical sectors. Those from other industries with relevant welding skills are also encouraged to apply.
