The Hillsboro Club, an exclusive oceanfront private residence club in South Florida, is seeking an experienced line cook to support the Culinary Department at our gorgeous property. This position will be responsible for cooking and preparing a variety of food products, including meats, seafood, poultry, vegetables, sauces and stocks according to the club’s standard recipes using a variety of equipment and utensils according to the daily prep list.

We are looking for someone with hospitality experience, high energy and a passion to contribute to the continued success of our luxury property.

The Club operates 24 hours a day and 7 days a week, so operational demands require variations in shift days, starting and ending times, and hours worked in a week.

Full-time and seasonal employment opportunities are available, with competitive pay ranging from $19 to $21 per hour, paid biweekly. In addition to competitive pay, our employees have access to health insurance and other benefits. We also offer opportunities for advancement within the company.

• Take inventory of all items required for the station set-up and determine those items that require preparation.
• Prepares items according to standard recipes.
• Coordinates and times orders with other kitchen operations.
• Requisition s items needed to produce menu items.
• Notifies Sous Chef of expected shortages.
• Ensure that assigned work areas and equipment are clean and sanitary.
• Sets-up, maintains and breaks down prep cook station.
• Covers, dates and neatly stores all leftover products that are re-usable.
• Makes recommendations for maintenance, repair and upkeep of the line prep area and equipment.
• Close the kitchen properly using the closing checklist.
• Attends kitchen staff meetings and offers suggestions for improvements.
• Assists with other duties as assigned by the Executive Chef.

• Required to stand for long periods and walk, climb stairs, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, bend, stretch and twist or reach.
• Push, pull or lift up to 50 pounds.
• Continuous repetitive motions.
• Work in a hot, humid and noisy environment.

• High School diploma or GED.
• Successful completion of a two-year course at culinary school.
• A minimum of two years of experience in kitchen preparation and cooking.
