The Springs at Tanasbourne is seeking a Food & Beverage Director with the culinary knowledge and operational experience to lead a high-quality dining program. This role provides overall leadership and accountability for all dining operations within the community.
The Food & Beverage Director directly oversees and supports the Executive Chef and back‑of‑house culinary team, as well as the Dining Services Managers and front‑of‑house service team, ensuring strong alignment, collaboration, and a shared commitment to hospitality, relationship‑building, and an exceptional dining experience.
This position sets the tone, culture, and standards for a dining experience that reflects our culinary philosophy: scratch cooking, seasonal menus, thoughtful sourcing, and exceptional service delivered by engaged, supported team members. The Food & Beverage Director is responsible for building and sustaining a positive, professional, and successful dining culture rooted in trust, connection, and mutual respect among residents and team members.
KeyLeadership Responsibilities
- Providing clear direction, coaching, and accountability for all dining leaders and team members
- The Executive Chef and culinary team
- The Dining Services Managers and dining room team
- Creating strong collaboration between back‑of‑house and front‑of‑house teams
- Building strong, trust‑based relationships with residents, families, and team members through visibility, listening, and open communication
- Fostering a culture rooted in hospitality, respect, teamwork, and continuous improvement
- Serving as a visible, engaged leader who models The Springs Living values and actively connects with residents and team members
- Oversee all food and beverage operations to ensure consistency, quality, and resident satisfaction
- Partner with the Executive Chef to develop and sustain a successful, resident‑centered dining program
- Ensure dining services align with The Springs Living standards and philosophy
- Support menu development, purchasing, production, and cost controls
- Support catering and special events as needed
- Champion scratch cooking, seasonal menus, and farm‑to‑table practices when possible
- Ensure dining programs meet the needs of seniors, including nutrition considerations and special diets
- Maintain a strong resident‑ and guest‑centered dining experience
- Actively engage with residents to understand preferences, gather feedback, and continuously improve the dining experience through meaningful relationships
- Ensure compliance with food safety, sanitation, workplace safety, and regulatory standards
- Maintain strong organization, communication, and follow‑through across all dining functions
- Minimum 5 years of progressive leadership experience in food and beverage operations, including oversight of both culinary and service teams
- At least 5 years of culinary experience, including production, menu development, purchasing, and experience across a variety of cuisines
- Proven ability to lead leaders, including Executive Chefs and Dining Managers
- Strong working knowledge of food safety, sanitation practices, and workplace safety culture
- Catering experience preferred
- Background in nutrition and special diets preferred but not required
- Culinary school diploma or degree in Food Service Management preferred
- Excellent communication, listening, and relationship‑building skills
- Strong assessment, decision‑making, and organizational skills
- Flexible schedule required

- Must be able to pass a drug test and criminal background check
