Position Summary

The Aircraft and Powerplant (A&P) Mechanic performs routine troubleshooting, inspections, repairs, and preventive maintenance with a constant focus on safety and quality. Ensures maintenance documentation complies with applicable Federal Aviation Regulations, company policies, and manufacturer requirements.

Responsibilities
  • Perform efficient troubleshooting, maintenance, and repairs in accordance with regulations, manufacturer instructions, and company policies to ensure airworthiness.
  • Correct compliance or safety issues and advise appropriate personnel of maintenance issues preventing safe operation of aircraft.
  • Estimate projected labor-hours for repairs and inspections.
  • Maintain consistent, accurate, verifiable aircraft maintenance records.
  • Read and interpret manufacturers and airlines maintenance manuals, service bulletins, and other specifications to determine repair methods.
  • Operate tools and equipment necessary to accomplish assignments.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, professional work area.
  • Maintain reliable, regular, and predictable attendance.
  • Complete pre-employment drug screen and criminal history background check with favorable results.
  • Adhere to Aero Air policies and standards of conduct.
  • Other duties as assigned by the department supervisor.
Required Qualifications
  • FAA A&P License in good standing.
  • Must maintain a valid US/state driver’s license with clean driving record.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, attention to detail, and ability to meet deadlines.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Professional communication with employees, vendors, and individuals at all levels.
  • Service-oriented and able to build productive professional relationships.
  • Must possess adequate tools to perform job functions.
  • Working knowledge of MS Word, Excel, and Outlook.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working on Lear 31, 35, 45; PC-12;
    King Air;
    Cessna Mustang;
    Bombardier Challenger models.

Education and Experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent work experience.
Working Conditions
  • Working near moving mechanical parts and exposure to fumes, chemicals, or other hazards.
  • Work is performed indoors in hangars or outdoors with varying weather conditions.
  • Noise level is typically moderate to loud.
Physical Requirements
  • Lift up to 15 pounds on occasion and up to 80 pounds with assistance.
  • Ability to read, hear, talk, stand, walk, bend, kneel, stoop, crouch, crawl, and climb; good hand/eye coordination and dexterity.
  • Normal vision abilities including close, distance, color, peripheral vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment.
  • Occasionally climb ladders and wear personal protective equipment as required.

Under the Department of Transportation-Federal Aviation Administration (DOT-FAA), this position is safety sensitive. Post-offer, pre-employment drug testing and routine random testing may be conducted in accordance with regulations.
