Job PositionDescription:
Are you passionate about helping families and individuals achieve housing stability and economic independence? As a Housing Support Specialist you will provide compassionate, person‑centered case management to clients transitioning from homelessness to permanent housing. You will build supportive relationships, empower clients, and connect them with the resources they need to thrive.
Responsibilities:- Manage a caseload of individuals and families.
- Conduct home visits and provide comprehensive case management, including assessment, goal setting, and linkage to services.
- Assist clients in developing individualized plans and provide ongoing support to help them achieve their goals.
- Help clients access opportunities for employment, training, and income enhancement through partnerships with community organizations.
- Maintain accurate and confidential client records in the Housing Management Information System (HMIS).
- Communicate and problem‑solve with landlords and tenants to promote stable housing.
- Stay up‑to‑date on community resources, Fair Housing laws, and landlord/tenant rights.
- Work both independently and collaboratively with a team, housing providers, and other service partners.
- A minimum of a High School Diploma or equivalent.
- At least one year of case management experience, including maintaining accurate case files and coordinating services.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to establish trusting, professional relationships with diverse clients and maintain clear boundaries.
- Proficiency in computer applications such as word processing, spreadsheets, and databases.
- Reliable transportation, a valid driver's license, and insurance.
- A Bachelor's Degree in Social Services or a related field.
- Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish or another language reflecting the local population.
- Knowledge of local social services and community resources.
