Senior Software Engineer, VoIP - Hillsboro, OR

Join us at Rohde & Schwarz as a Senior Software Engineer (VoIP) in Hillsboro, OR. We develop next‑generation voice communication systems for the Air Traffic Control (ATC) market.

Critical infrastructure plays an unseen but central role in ensuring a safer, connected world. You will work on the design, implementation, and testing of secure, high‑performance VoIP software and collaborate with hardware engineers, system and test engineers, and internal and external customers.

• Design, implement, and unit‑test VoIP software components.
• Write and review software requirements, design documentation, and test cases.
• Integrate software with hardware, perform debugging, and troubleshoot issues.
• Participate in code, design, and requirement reviews.
• Document and present software architecture and design.
• Ensure compliance with system and test requirements.
• Interface with customers on problem reports and resolutions.
• Mentor junior software engineers.

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of professional software engineering experience.
• Proficiency with C/C++ for safety‑critical applications.
• Experience designing scalable, maintainable software architectures.
• Knowledge of software development lifecycle, configuration management, and quality assurance processes.
• Familiarity with Linux operating systems.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• U.S. citizenship or permanent work authorization required.

Base salary range: $120,000–$155,000 plus variable pay and benefits. The total compensation package includes competitive health, dental, vision, and retirement benefits, as well as flexible working hours, training & continuing education, and a long‑term, inclusive work environment.
