Hourly base pay rate is $29.09 - $43.61/hour. The hourly base rate may vary within the anticipated range based on factors such as the ultimate location of the position and the selected candidate’s knowledge, skills, and abilities. Position may be eligible for additional compensation that may include commission (annual, monthly, etc.) and/or an incentive program.

FSCA is currently hiring a Shop Paint Tech II to join our Field Maintenance Team to support future growth of the Company. This is an on-site role and we do not provide emergency road services. Sr Shop Paint Technician will be responsible for formulating, mixing, and applying properly mixed and dispensed automotive refinish materials to vehicle surfaces and sub-assemblies, using spray-painting equipment, power tools, and other duties as assigned such as minor body repairs.
The Sr Shop Paint Technician can perform more advanced refinishing procedures such as multi-stage systems, two tone, and stripes. The Sr Shop Paint Technician assists Shop Paint Technician I and II with refinishing and continues to learn additional advanced refinishing skills. Heavily relied upon for troubleshooting including color match and paint imperfections. A successful Sr Shop Paint Technician complies with all company policies and achieves high level performance metrics.
Duties/Key Responsibilities
- Perform adjustments and intermediate repair various types of truck and trailer equipment.
- Identify problems, determine accuracy and relevance of information, using sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and make recommendations.
- Inspect, test, and listen to defective equipment to diagnose malfunctions, using test instruments such as computers and pressure gauges.
- Assist Shop Paint Technician I & II with refinish troubleshooting.
- Perform advanced refinish troubleshooting and triage of complicated refinishing by Shop Paint Technicians I & II.
- Formulate and apply mixed and dispensed automotive refinish materials to vehicle surfaces and sub-assemblies in accordance with applicable standards and procedures.
- Mix only the amount of refinish products (primer, base and clear) required to cover repair/refinish area and limit waste, using paint suppliers “mix-management system.”
- Update all paint supplier color, technical data and MSDS material as received.
- Assure all refinish products are properly formulated to meet color match and finish texture expectations, utilizing all tools and techniques provided by paint suppliers technical support system (i.e., TDS, color match system, etc.).
- Inspect refinish products to be used for proper formulation to meet color match and finish texture standards.
- Maintain a high level of productivity and be able to work within or close to most Standard Repair Times.
- Communicate with Shop Manager and support team to discuss RO findings notes.
- Perform minor adjustments and body repairs on various types of truck and trailer equipment.
- Apply, mix, and dispense automotive refinish materials to vehicle surfaces and sub-assemblies in accordance with applicable standards and procedures.
