General
Purpose:
The ADC Associate is responsible for all functions of donation acceptance and processing, ensuring efficient rough sorting by category. The ADC Associate acts as a “Goodwill Ambassador,” role‑modeling Goodwill’s mission in all interactions to create a positive donor‑centric experience.
- Maintain a friendly customer‑service attitude.
- Consistently achieve brand productivity standards for donation handling and rough sorting of hard and soft goods.
- Maintain production room SOPs for receiving, storing, and transporting donations to designated stores.
- Execute efficient donation processing, performing rough sorting by category (e.g., textiles, housewares, shoes).
- Track and communicate daily cage count productivity to Key Holder.
- Support, understand, and adhere to Goodwill NYNJ safety and IDC protocols, reporting issues to line manager.
- Partner with Key Holder to replenish equipment and fulfill store requests.
- Engage donors by providing best‑in‑class customer experience.
- Share Goodwill NYNJ mission, provide donation receipt, and show appreciation for donations.
- Greet customers and donors within 30 seconds of entry with a friendly, positive attitude.
- Offer receipts for donations and educate customers about applicable literature.
- Maintain the inside‑outside of the donation area neat, clean, and organized.
- Thank donors and invite them to return.
- Facilitate contactless donation process by ensuring blue bins/cages are set up inside the donation area.
- Follow safe handling policy for donated products upon receipt.
- Separate sellable donations of textiles, housewares, and other categories.
- Maintain donor count on tracking tool.
- Prepare cages/bins of rough sorted goods for transport to designated stores.
- Activities may change to meet business needs with management approval.
- 1 year of retail or customer service experience preferred.
- Previous stock experience required.
- High school diploma, equivalent, or combination of education/experience required.
- Build lasting relationships with customers and colleagues.
- Adapt and engage with different customers.
- Strong communication skills with customers, sales leadership team, and colleagues.
- Collaborate effectively within a team.
- Receive feedback and act appropriately.
- Attention to detail and accuracy.
- Work a flexible schedule based on business needs, including evenings, weekends, and holidays (10‑6, Monday‑Sunday, flexible days).
- Handle multiple tasks in a fast‑paced, deadline‑oriented environment.
37.5 hours per week; 10‑6, Monday‑Sunday; flexible days, no set schedule.
