Hillsborough YMCA is seeking a Community Safety/Lifeguard Instructor to teach American Red Cross lifeguarding courses to community members and staff. Our instructors help participants achieve confidence in lifeguarding and lifesaving skills.
Hours: Varies based on class offerings
Responsibilities:
- Teach lifeguard training, review courses, CPR/AED, First Aid, and Oxygen (not mandatory)
- Ensure safety procedures are followed and respond to emergencies promptly
- Perform equipment checks and maintain a safe environment
- Attend staff meetings and training
- Maintain positive relationships with members and staff
- Uphold safety and instructional standards in the aquatic environment
- Arrive punctually and wear appropriate uniform
Qualifications:
- Minimum age of 18
- American Red Cross Lifeguard Instructor certification (CPR/AED/First Aid/Oxygen)
- Experience teaching Red Cross courses
