Position: Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP)

Overview

Health Pro Heritage has a great Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) Opportunity.

Need: PRN (as needed basis)

Setting: Long-term care

Location: Hillsboro House - 28 skilled beds and 2 short-term rehab beds.

Pay Range: $50 - $63 per hour/based on years of experience.

Here are some clear reasons a therapist (physical, occupational, speech, or similar) might want to work at Hillsboro House in New Hampshire — based on what the facility emphasizes and what many healthcare professionals value in a workplace:

  • Small, Person-Focused Environment Hillsboro House is one of the smallest certified nursing/rehab facilities in New Hampshire with only about 33 residents. That setup creates a less institutional and more personal care environment, where staff can build meaningful relationships with residents and see real progress over time — something many therapists find rewarding.
  • Opportunity for Individualized Care Because they treat residents individually rather than relying on assembly-line care, therapists can tailor therapy plans to each person’s unique needs and goals — a big benefit for clinicians who prioritize quality and depth over volume.
  • Home-Like, Community-Connected Culture The facility strives to feel like a home, not an institution. Residents go on local outings and participate in everyday activities, and therapists often engage in real-world functional therapy — something many clinicians enjoy more than purely clinical, repetitive tasks.
  • Stable, Experienced Staff and Low Turnover Hillsboro House prides itself on a very low staff turnover rate, with many team members staying for years. For therapists, that often means better teamwork, more consistency in care, and a supportive work culture — all of which can improve job satisfaction.
  • Locally Owned & Independent The facility is family-owned and independently operated, not part of a large corporate chain. That often translates into more flexibility, a sense of shared mission, and the ability to influence how care is delivered — appealing to clinicians who want to be part of shaping patient outcomes.
  • Diverse Patient Needs Therapists can work with a wide range of clinical and functional needs, from post-hospital rehab to long-term care and dementia support. This variety can keep the work engaging and professionally fulfilling.
  • Better Work–Life Balance The facility’s employment messaging (for nursing staff) highlights competitive pay, flexible scheduling, and a supportive work environment. Although that’s aimed at nurses, similar values often extend to therapy teams in smaller settings that emphasize staff well‑being.
