Nurse Manager, AC - Hillsborough Family Practice

Duke Primary Care Hillsborough provides comprehensive, family-centered care for patients of all ages in one convenient location. Our team offers everything from annual physicals, screenings, and immunizations to sick visits, chronic condition management, and women's health services. We also provide pediatric care, including well-child visits, school and sports physicals, and ongoing support for conditions like asthma, allergies, and diabetes. With on-site lab testing and X-rays, we make it easy for patients to get the care they need close to home.

What you will do Clinical Operations Management

• Clinic Oversight :
  ? Manage and coordinate patient care and personnel needs in a DUHS clinic.
  ? Work performed involves managing multi-specialty nursing services delivered within a specified clinic.
  ? Manage the clinic in the absence of the Health Care Administrator/Practice Manager; be available on-call for emergencies involving the facility or staff.
• Operational Efficiency :
  ? Develop and implement processes to enhance clinic operations and practices for ongoing quality improvement.
  ? Identify clinical operational needs; manage appropriate levels of equipment and supplies, and monitor equipment maintenance.
  ? Assess the environment and make recommendations to ensure optimal patient comfort, safety, and compliance with regulatory bodies (e.g., OSHA, JCAHO).
• Policy Development :
  ? Develop, document, implement, and monitor written policies and procedures reflective of the ambulatory healthcare site's mission and objectives.
  ? Perform other related duties incidental to clinic operations.

Strategic Planning & Program Development

• Program Implementation :
  ? Plan, develop, implement, and evaluate ambulatory health care services, programs, and activities.
  ? Collaborate with the Health Center Administrator/Nurse Manager in determining fiscal requirements; submit budgetary recommendations including necessary nursing personnel and patient care materials.

Personnel Management & Development

• Human Resources :
  ? Manage various personnel actions including, but not limited to, hiring, orientation, performance appraisals, promotions, and scheduling.
  ? Counsel and conduct formal discipline of clinical staff as needed.
• Professional Development :
  ? Collaborate in the development, implementation, and expansion of learning opportunities and skill development for all clinical staff.
  ? Collaborate with nursing colleagues in ambulatory care to promote optimal utilization of nursing resources among various clinics.

Patient & Family-Centered Care

• Care Delivery :
  ? Analyze, develop, and maintain an effective and efficient nursing care delivery system that reflects patient and family needs across the continuum, achieving desired outcomes.
  ? Promote education for patients, patient families, and the community.
  ? Participate in direct patient care activities as a targeted strategy for role modeling or information gathering.
