Conditions:

Part-time, non-tenure track, for placement in Spring, Summer and/or Fall lecturer pool, assignments as needed, contingent on availability of funds and actual staffing requirements for East Hawaii (Hilo), West Hawaii (Kailua-Kona), and/or North Hawaii (Honokaa) campuses. Must be able to attend meetings and trainings on short notice as well as teach courses in person, as necessary.

• Under general supervision, conduct lecture and as appropriate, laboratory courses in the discipline.
• May include instructional assignment involving distance education.
• Maintain at least one office hour per week for each class taught.
• Possible evening, weekend and off-campus assignments.
• Conduct student evaluations of teaching effectiveness.
• Participate in assessment of course learning outcomes.
• Adhere to all due dates, including the online submission of grades.

• (a) Master’s degree in hospitality, travel, or tourism;
• OR (b) MBA and 2 years of relevant work experience in the hospitality & tourism field of which at least 1 year must include industry work experience;
• OR (c) Bachelor’s degree in hospitality, travel, or tourism and 3 years of relevant work experience in the hospitality & tourism field of which at least 2 years must include industry work experience;
• OR (d) Bachelors’ degree in any field and 5 years of relevant work experience in the hospitality & tourism field of which at least 3 years must include industry work experience;
• OR (e) Associate’s degree in hospitality, travel, or tourism and 5 years of relevant work experience in the hospitality & tourism field of which at least 3 years must include industry work experience;
• OR (f) 15 college credits in hospitality, travel, or tourism and 7 years of relevant work experience in the hospitality & tourism field of which at least 5 years must include industry management or supervisory experience.
