Position Overview
: A respected member-owned financial institution on East Hawaiʻi Island seeks an experienced Controller to lead its finance team and oversee all accounting operations. This strategic role ensures accurate financial reporting, compliance with regulatory standards, and efficient processes that support the organization’s mission and long-term sustainability.

• Direct daily accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, reconciliations, and cash management.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports and regulatory filings.
• Develop and manage annual budgets and forecasts; provide financial analysis to guide decision-making.
• Maintain and strengthen internal controls; coordinate audits and regulatory examinations.
• Optimize financial systems and processes for accuracy and efficiency.
• Lead and mentor the finance team, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.

• Expertise in GAAP accounting and financial reporting.
• Strong knowledge of budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
• Ability to implement and improve internal controls and financial systems.
• Leadership and team development capabilities.
• Analytical mindset with attention to detail and process improvement.

• 5+ years of accounting or finance experience, including 3+ years in GAAP and complex financial analysis.
• Minimum 2 years of supervisory or managerial experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• CPA or similar certification preferred.
• Experience in a financial institution or credit union strongly preferred.
