Staff Nurse - Primary Care Hilo

The Staff Nurse in Primary Care at Kaiser Permanente provides nursing care and services to patients and families, directing LPNs and nursing assistive personnel while ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory guidelines.

• Pay: $54 - $77/hour
• Location: Hilo, HI
• Facility: Hilo Medical Offices
• Schedule: Call-in/On-Call

• Provide nursing care and services to patients and families.
• Delegate nursing care according to legal and regulatory guidelines.
• Utilize nursing process to deliver care.
• Administer medications and may administer intradermal local anesthetic for IV placement.
• Teach LPNs and nursing assistive personnel special tasks of nursing care.
• Verify staff competency to perform special tasks of nursing care.
• Serve as primary nurse and total patient caregiver.
• Act as resource nurse and preceptor.
• Perform administrative duties as assigned.
• Maintain clinical expertise and competency necessary to fulfill job responsibilities.

• Graduate from an accredited school of nursing.

• One (1) year experience in area of specialty or completion of formal course in area of specialty within established timeframe.

• Registered Nurse License (Hawaii)
• Basic Life Support from American Heart Association
• ONS/ONCC Chemotherapy Immunotherapy Certificate by Oncology Nursing Society (ONS) to be obtained within one (1) year of hire.
