Core Responsibilities As a Grocery Stock Clerk, your primary focus is to ensure customer satisfaction by neatly, accurately, and promptly stocking our sales floor shelves. You play a key role in building customer loyalty by offering friendly, courteous, and patient service.

Stocking & Merchandise Handling:
Retrieve merchandise from the store warehouse, transport it to the sales floor, and display it neatly in the correct locations. Keep shelves fronted and well-stocked throughout the day, rotating items as needed. Build and maintain end displays for sale and promotional items.

Operational Support:
Assist with warehouse receiving duties, assemble special customer orders, perform hourly sweep log duties, and keep aisles and display shelves clear, neat, and clean. Discard trash/cardboard and operate the rubbish baler when full. Assist with pricing/coding merchandise, updating signs/shelf talkers, answering phones, ordering merchandise, and taking quarterly inventory as assigned.

Customer & Team Engagement:
Promptly, courteously, and efficiently greet, help, and thank every customer. Listen attentively, answer product questions, guide shoppers directly to items, offer alternatives when products are out of stock, and personalize the customer shopping experience.

Working Conditions & Physical Demands Environment:
Frequently work indoors in areas that may be noisy or cool, with a high volume of customers and co-workers. Maintain warehouse cleanliness, working occasionally in dusty or poorly ventilated warehouse spaces. Seldom work around fumes from forklifts or vehicles.

Physical Effort:
Continuous standing, walking, handling, and fine finger manipulation. Frequent bending, squatting, kneeling, crouching, and reaching to stock shelves and conduct inventory. Frequent pushing/pulling up to 400 lbs, lifting up to 50 lbs, and carrying up to 40 lbs using stock wagons or pallet jacks. Seldom climb ladders to clean or stock top shelves.

Safety:
Continuous requirement to wear a back support belt while performing job duties.

Must be at least 16 years of age to use a case cutter. Must be at least 18 years of age to operate the trash baler, freight elevator, or power-driven equipment. Must be at least 18 years of age, company certified, and possess a valid Driver License to operate a forklift or company vehicle.

Skills & Knowledge:
Basic math skills for taking inventory, filling orders, and cost-code pricing. Strong multi-tasking skills and the ability to work under minimal or no supervision. Effective oral and written communication skills to interact with customers, co-workers, vendors, and management.

Work Habits:
Friendly, positive, service-oriented attitude with a high degree of patience and honesty. Punctual, detail-oriented, self-motivated, flexible, and able to perform well under pressure and meet deadlines.

Availability:
General availability 7 days a week and holidays, typically between the hours of 7:00 AM and 10:30 PM.
