The primary responsibility of Meat Maintenance is to maintain a clean and sanitary meat prep room, including all equipment used for handling various meat, poultry, and seafood products, to comply with all Department of Health sanitation requirements and ensure customer safety and satisfaction.

• Sanitation & Machine Maintenance:
  Breakdown, wash, soak, scrub, rinse, and sanitize processing machines (including large and small grinders, band saws, and slicers), prep tables, beef racks, windows, containers, and floors.
• Prep Room Care & Waste Disposal:
  Remove and properly dispose of all trash and cardboard boxes from the meat prep room, and wipe down display cases as needed.
• Customer & Team Engagement:
  Assist customers with orders and special requests, delivering "World Class Service" with local warmth and hospitality.

• Environment:
  Continuously work indoors in a chilled, wet, and noisy prep room. Frequently handle extremely hot water when cleaning equipment. Occasionally work around fumes/noxious odors from product waste, go outdoors to discard trash/cardboard, or work in extreme cold in the freezer or chill box.
• Physical Effort:
  Continuously stand, walk, handle items, and use corrected vision. Frequently bend, squat, stoop, kneel, and reach to clean floors and equipment. Occasionally push, pull, lift, and carry up to 50 lbs to dispose of trash and move heavy equipment.
• Safety Equipment:
  Continuously wear rubber boots to prevent slips and falls, and wear a back support belt when performing all job duties.

• Age Requirements:
  • Must be at least 16 years of age to work in a walk-in freezer or chill box, or use a case cutter and knife.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age to clean the meat prep room, maintain or operate meat slicers, or operate power-driven equipment.
• Skills & Knowledge:
  Basic math skills (for diluting cleaning chemicals or taking customer orders), ability to multitask to finish duties on time, ability to read chemical labels safely, and effective oral/written communication skills. Must be able to work under minimal or no supervision.
• Work Habits:
  Honest, trustworthy, detail-oriented, self-motivated, punctual, and committed to maintaining a clean and safe work environment.
• Availability:
  Generally available to work 7 days a week, including weekends and holidays.
