FAR Inspections is seeking a Mortgage Field Services Inspector to perform residential occupancy verifications on behalf of mortgage lenders. Independent contractors can earn a predictable full‑time or supplemental income with a flexible schedule. Experience with mortgage field inspections is not required; ability to manage time and meet deadlines is essential. The position is based in Reno, NV.
Responsibilities- Most common type of inspection should only take 5‑6 minutes.
- Complete the inspection within 4 days after it is assigned.
- Report general property conditions and make a determination of occupancy based on industry standards.
- Take 9+ photos of the property with brief comments.
- Complete a short form in an app.
- Requires being able to spend extended periods of time driving while making numerous stops during the day in the assigned territory.
- Computer with an internet connection
- Reliable vehicle (good gas mileage is a plus as you will be paying for your own gas)
- Smartphone (Android or iPhone)
- Printer
- Pass a standard background check using a valid driver's license
This is a 1099 position. Each inspection has a flat rate that varies by county and volume. You will earn the equivalent of $30‑$40 per hour and can complete 20‑500 inspections per month, working 2‑30 hours per week, depending on county.
No additional mileage reimbursement is provided beyond the flat fee per inspection.
