Golf Course Assistant Mechanic – Long Cove Club

Long Cove Club, Hilton Head Island's premier private golf community, is looking for a Golf Course Assistant Mechanic to join our dedicated Golf Course Maintenance team. This hands‑on role supports the upkeep and performance of our fleet of turf maintenance equipment, ensuring optimal playing conditions on our award‑winning Pete Dye course.

• Diagnose, repair, and maintain mowing equipment, utility vehicles, and small engines
• Perform routine servicing, lubrication, and adjustments
• Inspect, change, and repair tires
• Maintain knowledge of hydraulic systems and components
• Support fabrication, bodywork, and painting projects as needed
• Clean and maintain work areas and tools
• Assist with cutting unit adjustments and reel sharpening
• Operate maintenance equipment as needed to support the grounds crew
• Help train team members on proper equipment use and maintenance
• Prioritize safety in all tasks and uphold equipment best practices
• When servicing of equipment is complete, assist on the maintenance crew and may operate mowing equipment
• Perform other duties as assigned

• Valid Driver's License
• Basic mechanical skills with both gas and diesel engines
• Knowledge of hydraulic systems and small engine repair
• Ability to read and follow manuals and instructions
• Certification or equivalent experience preferred
• Previous experience with golf course or turf equipment preferred

• Ability to occasionally lift up to 100 lbs and perform physical tasks, including kneeling, crouching, standing, and walking for extended periods
• Comfortable working in all weather conditions, around mechanical equipment, and in areas with noise, fumes, and vibration

• Travel pay: $7/day, up to $150/month
