Project Music&Memory (iPod-project)

We are looking for enthusiastic volunteers for the project Music&Memory (iPod-project). Each participant gets an iPod and headphone. The participants are residents with dementia. Based on questionnaires, the favourite music of the resident is selected and a playlist is created. As a volunteer, you will listen to the music with the resident and note how the resident reacts to each song.

This data can be used to further improve the personal playlists. This takes about an hour per resident. Every 2 months we add 16 new participants. Hence this is a temporary vacancy that may repeat every 2 months.

Volunteers receive training on how to use the iPod (turn it on/off, volume, next track). Afterwards you work independently with remote support (via e‑mail or phone).

• Listen to music with residents and record their reactions to each song.

• Use the collected data to improve the playlists.

• Follow the guidance of a music therapist during the process.

Variable between 9:00 – 17:00 hours.
Uren per week: 1 tot 8 (day in agreement).
