A well-established UK specialist flooring contractor is seeking an experienced Senior Estimator to join its commercial team at its head office in Leicestershire. Operating nationally for over 20 years, the business delivers high-performance flooring solutions across industrial, commercial, healthcare, food manufacturing, pharmaceutical and sports environments. This role offers the opportunity to work on a wide variety of technically challenging projects with a respected contractor in the sector.
The RoleAs an Estimator you will take responsibility for preparing accurate and competitive tenders for flooring and resin flooring projects, working closely with operations, procurement, and clients.
Key Responsibilities- Preparing detailed cost estimates and tenders from drawings, specifications, and site surveys
- Pricing resin flooring systems, screeds, finishes, and associated works
- Liaising with suppliers and manufacturers to obtain accurate material pricing
- Attending site visits and pre-tender meetings where required
- Identifying value-engineering opportunities and commercial risks
- Supporting junior estimators and contributing to bid strategy
- Ensuring submissions are completed accurately and on time
- Proven experience as an Estimator or Senior Estimator within flooring, resin flooring, or specialist construction trades
- Strong understanding of resin flooring systems (industrial, hygienic, commercial or sports flooring preferred)
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications
- Excellent numerical, analytical, and organisational skills
- Commercial awareness and strong attention to detail
- Confident communicator, comfortable working with clients, suppliers, and internal teams
- Proficient in estimating software and Microsoft Office
- Full UK driving licence
