Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to join a major 76-week new build prison project. This is a key role responsible for overseeing project delivery, managing programme, budget, subcontractors, and ensuring the project is completed safely, on time, and to the highest quality standards.

The successful candidate will have a proven track record delivering large-scale construction projects and coordinating multiple stakeholders within a complex project environment.

Key Responsibilities

Lead the overall delivery of the project from construction through to handover.
Manage project programme, costs, risks, and resources.
Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, consultants, and site teams.
Monitor progress and implement corrective actions where required.
Ensure compliance with health & safety, quality, and contractual requirements.
Work closely with the client, senior management, and project stakeholders.
Chair progress meetings and provide regular project reports.
Manage project logistics, sequencing, and delivery strategy.
Oversee commissioning, handover, and project close-out activities.
Drive project performance to achieve key milestones and objectives.

Requirements

Proven experience as a Project Manager on major construction projects.
Experience delivering large-scale public sector, custodial, infrastructure, healthcare, education, commercial, or industrial developments.
Strong understanding of project planning, commercial awareness, and construction delivery.
Excellent leadership and stakeholder management skills.
Ability to manage multiple work packages and project teams.
Strong knowledge of health & safety legislation and industry best practices.
Relevant construction qualification and SMSTS preferred.
Strong communication, reporting, and organisational skills.
