Configuration Support Engineer

Desford, Leicestershire (Fully Onsite)
Position Type: 12‑Month Contract (Potential to extend)
Hours:
37.5 hours per week (Standard hours: 8 AM - 4 PM, Monday to Friday)
Pay: £24–£26 per hour
The OpportunityAre you a detail‑oriented engineer looking to make a direct impact on real‑world machinery? We are seeking a Configuration Support Engineer to join our technical team within the Building Construction Products Division.
In this role, you will play a crucial part in managing current and new product configurations, maintaining engineering master models, and handling machine bills of material (BOM). This is a fantastic opportunity to collaborate across global regions (UK, USA, India, Brazil), working on both current production and exciting New Product Introductions (NPI).
What You Will Do- Review engineering change data and documentation to ensure strict compliance with change management policies.
- Communicate and coordinate design changes seamlessly with product development groups, sales, marketing, supply chain, and manufacturing operations.
- Prepare essential configuration documentation required to support product development and maintain master models.
- Support machine product groups within corporate engineering systems and contribute to ongoing process improvement projects.
- Experience:
2–5 years in an engineering support role. Experience with in Off‑Highway, Automotive, Aerospace, Rail, or a similar manufacturing domain is highly valued. - Technical
Skills:
Proficiency with PTC Creo (3‑D CAD software) and Teamcenter Engineering (data management system). - Core
Skills:
Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and navigate conflicting timelines using basic project‑management skills. - Strong analytical thinking and a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Soft Skills:
Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with a mindset geared toward working effectively within diverse, global teams. - Education:
A relevant engineering degree is desirable, though equivalent hands‑on experience will be highly considered.
- Prior engineering experience specifically within a mobile construction equipment manufacturing environment.
