Contract Vehicle Test Engineer, 6 months, Commutable from Coventry, Warwickshire, West Midlands areas. The Vehicle Test Engineer Role:
We are looking for a Vehicle Test Engineer to plan and execute testing within a specialist low vehicle development and build environment. This is an exciting opportunity to work with cutting-edge vehicle technology, supporting vehicle testing, validation, and customer demonstrations. Working as part of an Engineering design, development, test, and build team, you will play a key role in ensuring vehicles meet the highest standards of performance, reliability, and customer readiness.

- Conducting vehicle testing against approved test plans.
- Supporting validation and regression testing of new vehicle systems.
- Recording, analysing and reporting test results.
- Preparing vehicles for testing and customer trials.
- Carrying out vehicle inspections and basic maintenance during test programmes.
- Using diagnostic equipment and data logging systems to support engineering investigations.
- Supporting customer demonstrations and acceptance trials.
- Experience in vehicle testing, engineering validation or automotive engineering.
- Knowledge of vehicle diagnostics and testing methodologies.
- An understanding of autonomous and hybrid vehicle technologies would be advantageous.
- The ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, technical manuals and test procedures.
- Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and report writing skills.
- Experience supporting customers.
- You will hold a relevant engineering qualification (Apprenticeship / HNC / HND / Degree).
- Must be eligible to achieve SC Clearance.
- Experience with in defence, military, automotive, off-highway, specialist vehicles or motor sport would be highly advantageous but is not essential.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
