You’ll collaborate with ride vendors and internal teams to deliver hardware that’s buildable, robust and serviceable.
Who This Role Is For- Have hands on experience with mechanical design and integration experience for ride vehicles or other mobile/harsh environments
- Can exercise sound judgement selecting components, materials and finishes for electrical, vibration, temperature and maintainability
- Are strong with Solid Works and Inventor (or similar), designing assemblies, brackets, mounts, install details
- Maintain a collaborative approach to weight and space constraints and interface issues with engineers, suppliers and ride vendors
- Automotive, aerospace, rail, defence, marine, and other harsh-environment platforms
- Experience delivering mechanical design packages for vehicle-mounted equipment
- Strong 3D CAD experience in Solid Works, Inventor and other applicable software tools
- Confidence with materials and manufacturer selection; specify fasteners and components for differing vibration, heat and weather conditions
- Show systems integration and the importance of great design as we strive to meet the unique creative intent and technical intent of each project
- How themed entertainment ride vendors and theme park owners work and collaborate with show vendors
- How core engineering systems intersect with onboard audio, lighting and interactivity across multiple vendors and systems
- Holovis documentation standards and HPMS workflows (from schematic to installation packs and handover) and client standards and specifications
- Design onboard equipment enclosures and fitment methods for vehicle enclosures, mounts, housings and access features within space, weight and power constraints
- Create and maintain CAD models/drawings and build packs throughout the project lifecycle
- Select components and materials for show systems in ride environments, considering vibration, temperature, ingress, corrosion and other client specifications
- Define mounting strategies and mechanical interfaces for onboard subsystems, coordinating interfaces to power and vehicle structure
- Support verification through prototype and vehicle builds: fit checks, build reviews and documentation reviews
- Resolve mechanical issues during build and fitment tests, as well as issues that may be discovered on site.
- Able to effectively work across time zones
You’ll be hands‑on and collaborative, balancing priorities while keeping documentation and communication clear. We value pragmatic problem‑solving and engineering discipline, especially when working across teams, suppliers and owners.
