Contract Vehicle Test Engineer (6+ months)

Commutable from Coventry, Warwickshire, West Midlands areas

We are looking for a Vehicle Test Engineer to plan and execute testing within a specialist low vehicle development and build environment. This role supports vehicle testing, validation and customer demonstrations, ensuring vehicles meet the highest standards of performance, reliability and customer readiness.

• Conduct vehicle testing against approved test plans
• Support validation and regression testing of new vehicle systems
• Record, analyse and report test results
• Prepare vehicles for testing and customer trials
• Carry out vehicle inspections and basic maintenance during test programmes
• Use diagnostic equipment and data‑logging systems to support engineering investigations
• Support customer demonstrations and acceptance trials

• Experience in vehicle testing, engineering validation or automotive engineering
• Knowledge of vehicle diagnostics and testing methodologies
• Understanding of autonomous and hybrid vehicle technologies is advantageous
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, technical manuals and test procedures
• Strong fault‑finding and problem‑solving skills
• Excellent communication and report‑writing skills
• Experience supporting customers

• Relevant engineering qualification (Apprenticeship / HNC / HND / Degree)
• Eligibility to achieve SC Clearance
• Experience with in defence, military, automotive, off‑highway, specialist vehicles or motor sport valuable but not essential
• Full UK Driving Licence
